Charley's Rainbow

 We are so incredibly honored to add Charley's Rainbow to our giving back collection and it means so much to be able to share her story.

Charley was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at 5 months old, on Christmas Day 2020. Her first three months of treatment failed, her tumor was chemo-resistant to IR treatment.

She then started HR treatment, and this has brought on many challenges and complications for her. On March 26th, Charley’s tumor started to respond to treatment, but only a day later she went into septic shock and was not expected to make it through the night. By the grace of God, Charley is still with us today.

Charley has spent well over 100 days in the hospital, most of that in the PICU. Her body is still trying to recover after the first initial shock. She has been intubated a total of 5 times due to her going into shock over and over. Unfortunately, the more her tumor responds, it’s likely that she will continue to have these problems.

She has had heart failure, but it won’t be a life long problem for her. Her kidneys have suffered tremendously, however, even though her most recent kidney biopsy showed a bit of injury, the injury did not touch any of the main parts of her kidneys! Her kidneys are going to make a full recovery! 

Charley can proceed with her full treatment plan and she no longer needs to be on dialysis. She’s continuing to do amazing, and treatment will start either this weekend or early next week.

Her family has not lost hope, they refuse to give up. Charley has defied many odds and they are confident that her kidneys will correct themselves completely and she will finish treatment. They have a very long road ahead of them, but they can see her victory is only a reach away 💜
